Financial and property settlements

Perhaps your second greatest worry when considering separation or divorce will be the financial implications for you as there is often a family home, savings and pensions to consider as well as important possessions such as the car or valuable jewellery. Our aim is to guide you through what can be a difficult process with a view to negotiating an amicable settlement. In some cases this is not possible and an application to the Court may follow. In these cases the Court has the power to make a range of orders which include:

• Property Adjustment Order
• Lump Sum Order
• Periodical Payments/Maintenance
• Pensions

However, upon separating not everyone wants to get divorced. We can also advise couples who are separating but do not yet wish to start divorce proceedings on:

• Maintenance application in the Magistrates Court
• Separation Agreements
